Blackberry Heaven

Thank you Pioneer Woman for challenging yourself to find the best blackberry cobbler ever. I tried both recipes and we definitely liked Cobbler #1 better than Cobbler #2. The second one was good, but the first was absolutely amazing. Amanda described it as "heaven in a white dish." Amen.

Here's her recipe for the one we liked the best:

Pioneer Woman's Blackberry Cobbler #1

1 stick Butter
1-¼ cup Sugar
1 cup Self-Rising Flour
1 cup Milk
2 cups Blackberries (fresh or frozen)

Melt butter in a microwavable dish. Pour 1 cup of sugar and flour into a mixing bowl, whisking in milk. Mix well. Then, pour in melted butter and whisk it all well together. Butter a baking dish.

Now rinse and pat dry the blackberries. Pour the batter into the buttered baking dish. Sprinkle blackberries over the top of the batter; distributing evenly. Sprinkle ¼ cup sugar over the top.
Bake in the oven at 350 degrees for 1 hour, or until golden and bubbly. If you desire, sprinkle an additional teaspoon of sugar over the cobbler 10 minutes before it’s done.

I will try this recipe as soon as I can get to the store for some blackberries. My mouth is already watering.

Thanks for testing the recipes for us. I'll save myself the time and try your fav recipe first!

I'll have to try it. It sounds pretty simple too.

This was so easy and yummy! The 9x13 pan worked out just fine- just not as pretty as the white oval one...
