Fame

This morning I was invited to attend a special Famous Women Tea hosted by the third grade. Each student wrote an essay on a woman he or she admired and that woman was then honored at this classroom-event. Jacob was such a gentleman, serving me a bottle of Dasani, a small sugar cookie and an Oreo. I'm glad that he wasn't too cool to sit a little extra close to me, his excitement building while each essay was read.  He didn't seem to mind that he was chosen to be the final reader.
My Mom is a very special person.  She is an amazing chef, ecspecially her choc. chip cookies. She is a BYU fan, because she graduated from BYU. My Mom keeps my family safe from any danger. She also supports me while I play sports.
My Mom was born in Provo, Utah & loves steak. She loved to roller skate & wanted to someday become a famous roller skater, but there was one problem there were no famous roller skaters. My Mom also as a kid wanted to be a mom & a author. My Mom loved to draw, swim and read. Her favorite book was Where the Red Fern Grows. She still likes to read now, aswell as being on the computer, and playing games. Attending BYU, my Mom went skiing for the first time! She was glad she didn't get hurt while skiing, but right when she got to the parking lot she fell down & scraped her knee.
My Mom's favorite Holiday is Christmas, because she says it's a good time to be with family, & she gets to buy presents for all her children.
Thank you for being a special person to me.

There is no other fame I would rather have than being your Mom. Thank you Jacob for helping me feel a little extra special today.

That's awesome! Did he interview you for the essay, or just write it from memory? I love all the facts in it. . . and I love the BYU background in the picture. You deserve it!
I love that Jacob.

How sweet. It's wonderful to be recognized as a Mother isn't it?

That is so sweet! What a great tribute from your son, and what a great teacher to inspire the kids to write about those that mean the most to them! What a great memory! You are a great lady! I am glad you were honored!

Seriously, that is so wonderful that he recognizes how talented you are and what an accomplishment it is to be a mom!

That is so heartwarming. He is a great writer. I can't believe how much he knows about you, Julie.

I love this, and I'm so happy for you! Being a great mother is so much better than being a famous roller skater! Great choice, Julie! :)

This is the kind of thing that you'll dig out of a box in 40 years, because there's just no way you'd ever part with it. Priceless.

This makes me smile, and I'm not even the mother!

That story almost made me cry! What a sweet boy and a special moment for the two of you. Makes the lack of sleep pretty worth it...almost...:)

That just about brought tears to my eyes. It's amazing what kids glean from our random stories and anecdotes. I actually remember you telling me that story about falling in the parking lot after skiing; so funny! I also remember we went to the roller rink in Texas a good bit....never knew you were training for roller skate stardom.

Love you!
