Oh, how I
love summer! Even though it's nice to have the weather cool down just a bit, I do miss the end of my favorite season. Sigh.
Soon after returning from our vacation in July I lost every pictures on my computer. Luckily I was able to recover them (whew!) and have been reminded once again how important is to back up my pictures frequently.
Here's a quick rundown of the highlights from our vacation to Utah and Idaho in July:
Swimming in Idaho
We loved the time we spent with family in Idaho. Our kids have declared the Kellers' house as the best place to vacation. Their pool provided hours of entertainment.
(Thanks to Betsy for some of the pictures...)
I enjoyed my spot in the lounge chair with the camera in hand, capturing way too many pictures of people jumping off the diving board.
G&G's House in Utah
We had so much fun with Grandpa and Grandma Egan. They spoil us and we all love it! We love their backyard, Grandma's sewing room, and Grandpa's baseball themed basement. We also loved finding
these at the grocery store and eating three bags while we were there. YUM. I'm wishing I would have brought home a case since they aren't available anywhere in Texas.
Provo
I realized this summer that I have turned into my parents.
Growing up we didn’t visit relatives very often, but those infrequent trips always included long road trips cross country to Utah where both of my grandmothers lived. Every visit included a visit to the BYU campus where we loved getting ice cream at the Creamery, spotting the Y on the mountain and visiting the bookstore. My parents seemed to have an endless commentary on which buildings were the same and which had changed; where they had classes and lived and went to church; where they ate and went to dances and took tests.
I am now that same parent who loves to take my kids to BYU. I love pointing out to the kids where Erik and I first met, where we lived and worked and even where I used to sneak in a few naps on the couches in the bathrooms. I hope someday my kids will be giving the same tours to their kids. . Provo is awesome

No trip to Provo is complete without a trip to the Brick Oven. We loved meeting up with Andi and Audrey and introducing them to one of our favorite spots.
