Sweetness

Ten of the birthday presents from Erik & the kids that I opened Thursday morning were made of chocolate. Is this a sign that they missed my sweeter side during my chocolate fast?

The day ended with a fantastic German Chocolate Cake that Amanda & Ashley made for me. The homemade frosting was to-die-for.

German Chocolate Frosting

1 cup evaporated milk
1 cup white sugar
3 egg yolk, beaten with 1 teaspoon water
1/2 cup butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped pecans, toasted
1 cup flaked coconut

In a large saucepan combine evaporated milk, sugar, egg yolks, butter and vanilla. Cook over low to medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened. Remove from heat and stir in pecans and coconut. Spread on prepared German Chocolate Cake while still warm.

The pics are great - documentation of what you had to break your chocolate fast. Glad it was a perfect chocolate day for you!
