Bread Winner

This is Debbie W.'s very delicious bread recipe.  I love that it's so quick to make - no need to let it rise for hours.  Just mix, pop it in the oven to rise and then bake.  Voila!

Honey Wheat Bread
makes 4 loaves

6 T. vital wheat gluten
3 T. Dough enhancer
2 T Salt
3 T yeast
1/2 C. vegetable oil
1/2 C. Honey
6 C very warm water
Aprox. 12-16 C wheat flour (I use freshly ground white wheat.  Not sure how other wheat flour would work).

Turn oven on to warm/ absolute lowest setting.

In large mixer bowl with dough hooks, mix first six ingredients while wheat is grinding and let it sit until flour is done. Next, alternate adding flour and warm water until you have a moist mass of dough. (Use all the water, but continue adding flour until dough pulls away from the bowl.) Let the dough kneed in the mixer for 10 min. Spray four loaf pans with non stick spray and divide the dough evenly between the pans. Next, let the loaves raise in warm oven for aprox. 20-30 min. When the time is up, do not remove the loaves, just turn the oven on to 325 and bake for 25-30 minutes.

Looks yummy. What is the difference between dough enhancer and wheat gluten? I use wheat gluten. Love your recipes!

I'm so glad you enjoyed the recipe! Have you been able to find the dough enhancer?
