Twelve years ago today another daughter joined our family. It seemed so natural to have two girls, just 22 months apart. I was a mom of girls. I knew how to do the pink thing. It's funny now to think that I couldn't even imagine at the time what it would be like to have boys.
Her birth was wonderfully uneventful. My labor was induced and the whole process was only a couple hours long. This was my first Texas birth and I was a little surprised that my doctor wore his cowboy boots in the delivery room. Do they even make boot-cut scrubs?
We love that Ashley got to be on the news the evening she was born. Erik was working as a television anchor and reporter for the local (small town) NBC station and they sent a photographer to the hospital to get video of her for a little on-air birth announcement. She was a star from the beginning.
Ashley has alway had such a sweet, peaceful temperament. She is a snuggler and was a definitely a daddy's girl from the beginning.
Happy birthday to my sweet baby girl! I love you Ashley.

I remember watching that video at Bob and Kathy's. So fun. What a cute baby she was and cute 12-year-old now!
Ashley is so cute - and she looked so grown up today at church to receive her primary graduation certificate. My girls (especially Ella) love Ashaley:)
