I love making cookies! Here's my favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe:
Cream together:
1/2 C. butter, softened
1/2 C. shortening
1 C. brown sugar
1/2 C. sugar
Add:
2 eggs
1 t. vanilla
Mix in, just until blended:
1 t. baking soda
1 t. salt
2 1/2 C. flour
Add:
2 C. chocolate chips
Place balls of cookie dough on ungreased cookie sheets and bake at 375* for 8 minutes. Cookies should look a little under-done on top, but be slightly brown on the bottoms. Don't overbake. Cool on cookie sheets for a couple of minutes before removing to cooling racks.
(Variations: Instead of chocolate chips, add 1 C. white chocolate chips and 1 C. dried cranberries. Or roll balls of dough in sweetened flaked coconut before baking.)

This is such a good recipe. After you posted Coconut Gems, my boys helped make these and did a taste test. They did 1/3 with Chocolate chips, 1/3 rolled in coconut, and 1/3 with both! I think I liked both the best. Thanks for a good recipe!
I know I already commented, but...I made your Orange Blossom Salmon tonight! I loved it, thanks for the easy, yummy recipe.
