Why I Love Kindergarten

I know I've been through this five other times, but I am always amazed when reading and writing really click with my kindergartner. I love it when the letters start to have sounds and turn in magic words that jump off the page. Yesterday after school Mason sat down to practice his newfound writing skills and crayoned this gem of a letter to Shawn:

Let me translate (words are not all in order - the letter starts at the top, goes to the bottom of the page, and ends back up at the top):

I (love) U Shawn
R U ☹ (sad)
Do U like my seke (stinky) poo poo pans (pants)
I no U do.

Classic.
I'm sure this isn't the end of Mason's budding writing career... Let's just hope he choses to write about other topics in the classroom.

This is awesome- and so very Mason. Love that silly personality! And, kinda on the same lines, I was surprised at how excited i was to see this tiny baby in me at my first appointment ultrasound- surprised at how exciting it still is the 6th time around. It's just so fun to see your kids grow, no matter how many times you've done it! (pregnancy, on the other hand, has totally lost it's excitement and charm. . .)
